French toast is a Sunday morning Kiwi favourite. Have you ever stopped to consider how many calories are in your standard French toast? Averaging at over 600 calories (majority of them coming from sugar), this breakfast is not something you want to consume on a regular basis. A few minor tweaks and here we have a French toast that everyone can enjoy, everyday!
- 50g berries
- Sugar-free maple syrup
- 5g coconut oil
DIRECTIONS: In a bowl mix together eggs and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Soak the bread in the egg mixture for 3-4 minutes each side or until soaked through Heat a good non-stick pan with coconut oil and cook until golden. Top with your choice of fruit and a drizzle of maple syrup
